Picked this one up today! I had a 1993 Trek 9200 before and do like them. I thought the first year the 9900 appeared was in 1994. To my knowledge the first was the carbon OCLV version. Then I found this. Looks like a 1993 dual suspension, but I only know of the 9000, 9200 and 9500.

Can anybody tell me anything about this one?!?

Re:

Missed a bit of my reply there, they where not suspension frames so they are fake stickers.

1994 stopped at the 9500 also for suspension, but with OCLV main frame and the swing arm and suspension setup/styling was different to the 1993 'iconic' frames.

Thanks, but NO...

I missed this the first time I looked at the 1993 brochure. Look underneath the 9200 info!

Re:

There is a 9900 but it is an XTR upgrade a Ti Vetta saddle and a few other things of the 9800 frame ( the picture above that one.)

That bike is not OCLV (apart from not having rear suspension) the 9800 and 9900 are OCLV rigid bikes.

Re:

The "font" on the 9900 looks different to what the numbers used to look like on the early 90's models, so I think the stickers were applied afterwards.

Or maybe it is one of those strange models they prepared for the APAC market, which do not follow the usual numeration. Once I saw in this forum an Australian "Singletrack 870", when I thought all Singletracks were 9xx.

I'll agree with fluffychook; the 9900 was the upgraded version of the 9800 - basically their top of the line xtr equipped hardtail OCLV frame.

The font of the decals doesn't match any of the period when these were in production, so I'd go for re-painted & re-stickered.

Still a nice frame.
