Sold TREK 9800 OCLV MTB for sale

Retro Newbie
!!!! Please note I am getting PM responses to this advert but for some reason can’t return messages. Don’t know how to get in touch with folk! £500. Trek 9800 OCLV MTB. 18 inch Frame. Believed to be a 1995. This bike was only ever lightly used on forest tracks and has been hung up in my garage for too many years to remember. Apart from the seat I believe everything is original including XTR group set. Everything is working but as you will appreciate it needs a good full service.
The forks compress to some degree but don’t return quickly - again needs a service.
You can appreciate the original high quality of this frame and bike given it’s current condition.
Despite years of owning bikes this 9800 still remains as the lightest and fastest bike I’ve ever owned.
Rare opportunity to purchase a top end retro bike which would easily make a light fast bike with a bit of TLC. Sorry to be selling but time to allow some one else to enjoy.

Re:

FYI I messaged about the same time but I note the seller does not have many posts so may not be able to PM at present.

Hello mate, if you look at the bottom of each person's comments/post, there's sometimes an email button/tab. Click that and email them it gets sent through retrobike.

That's one way.

Stunning bike fella, always been a fan of the early monocoque carbon frames like this, with the XTR gear and the fact it looks like it's had an easy life you'll be getting your arm bitten off at £500. I'd be one of them if I hadn't already just bought another bike........ anyway best of luck.

I took possession of this. Beautifully wrapped and have started to have a proper look. The frame is very light - will weigh it when I get it properly stripped.
