Trek 950 advice/opinion

Hi, I introduced myself recently and have been keeping an eye on fleabay. I think a Marin would be nice but there is a Trek 950 on at the moment, seen better days I think but cromo frame, lugless. I have asked about the size but not had a reply yet. Looks about right for me at between 5 8 and 5 9.

Comments please (constructive of course)

Also a Muirwood sounds original and looks ok. Suggestions?

This one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Trek-950-Mountain-Bike-/170672591689?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item27bce11349 looks small (15"/16"), but hard to tell as the seatpin is so low. Conditon looks OK, but the stem is a bit far out, can't see the min insertion mark, but if taken over that, you may have issues in future.

Yes, that's the one. Gorilla type anatomy by the looks of it I know but some people will make a bike fit them no matter what the cost to their person!

A few nice marins around but I want to keep my first buy at the cheaper end until I know what is going to be best in the longer term.

I had the 930 from the same year. 94ish? Same frame, but cheaper kit. Nice bike. Size wise I'm 5'8" ish and rode an 18"
