Here is my new build to replace my '91 Marin PM, I wanted something lighter and either early carbon or titanium... This '93 8300 came up which has similar frame geometry to my Marin which fits just right! I also remember these when I had my new Scott Windriver bitd... The frame is in lovely condition with only a few slight marks...

Here is a picture with the BB, headset, stem, bars so far:

I will build this using my M737 brake/shifter combos, M735 mechs and Dia-Compe 987's. Wheels will be my smooth DX hubs with Mavic 231's

The bars are Use Carbon and I am waiting on a Use Carbon seatpost....

The 8300 is nearly built and I will update with some pictures when finished...

I am on the look out for an M735/736 34.9 top pull mech also if anyone has one....

Ta,

Dan.

Thats cool buddy ! I remember drooling over these back in the day. Looking forward to seeing updates of this and how it rides aswell. 8)

Love these bikes, ride really well, and look fab, yours should build up into a beauty!

Check my sig for links to the same frame in the 8700 guise from a couple of years earlier

Thanks for the comments.... Nice 8700!

Here is the 8300 built up.... Excuse the system2 seatpost but I really wanted to take it for the first ride on Sunday... I went up Coombe Hill/Dunsmore, around 25ish miles of hills and some flat riding... She rides so nice and fast... Just waiting on my USE carbon post and waiting to find an M735/6 front mech... There will be a few updates and I will post up new pictures when these happen... The City Jets will remain while I set it up so I am 100% comfy and knobblies will go on for some cross country runs...

I estimate the weight at 21 lbs. I did weigh each component when I built it up.... The rims are not the lightest, DX M-650 hubs with Mavic M231 rims but they really are smooth and true...
