Trek 790 Trekking (not Multitrack) identification

Hi folks, just acquired this in UK ... but having trouble dating it via Vintage Trek site etc .. Thought it must be post 1998 but can't find it in the catalogues . The sticker indicates a UK model but the Trekking nomenclature possibly a euro bike. Rides lovely though apart from the Cheng Shin tyres . Gonna pimp it up a bit I think

It will be hard to find your bike in the catalogue. Unfortunately those available online are the American catalogues, and Trek there reduced their Multitrack offering drastically in the late 90's (I guess bike commuting is not so popular as in Europe). Best bet is to date your bike by using the Shimano lettering codes of your components. Nice bike though!

TVM it’s a worthy addition to my 830, 850s , 7000 and 950s such a different feel though ..
