Tracking us mail in England.

I recently bought an item from America, I got a tracking number which only tracks in America.
How do I trace an item once it arrives in England ?
It has only been around 2 weeks since it was sent, but it would be nice to know where the item is.

This ^. If it was sent through the ebay shipping programme, any number of last mile distribution Cos could have it ( 4 in my last trans) and they will create their own number during handover. It can be a pita to find out.
