supprised to see the srm power meter cranks on the snapped BMC, the head unit isn't mounted in a viewable place so i assume they are seeing what is produced in the actual race with being distracted from looking at it, unless it's a training or back up bike?
Ouch. Great ad for BMC, sure they'll be thanking that photographer. Was the broken frame casued by the crash or did it cause the crash.
I'd assume the SRM were used more for data logging. Dunno if you can run them without a head unit.

i meant viewable by the rider, the head unit is on the seatstay wishbone area

ahh, sorry when you said about running it without the head unit i thought you hadn't spotted it.
but no you can't record anything without the head unit, have set up quite a few of these before for yamaha utag team when they did the RAAM (and won it
) bit fiddly but very informative if you know what you are looking at, and i'm not saying that i do!!

Edit - Just seen it again and this bike was launched into the air and turned a full somersault as the rider was pitched over the bars after colliding with the girl in red, it's hard to say exactly when it broke, video here (link from Tintin's thread)
