Townsend Savannah mtb? anybody here help date this?

Retro Newbie
Hi

I've recently been given the bike of a friends late husband to sell, when asked my original plan was to service and clean the bike and sell it through Gumtree or Ebay but realising it is quite old but in very good condition I thought I'd ask here about it's history and whether anyone here has any interest in it. AFAIK it is all original.

it's a reynolds 500 frame (stating handbuilt on the decals) with a fairly low end shimano 18 speed groupset.

Thanks.

Re:

They churned these bike shaped objects out by the truckload and changed the names regulary. As a pure wild guess I would say mid 90's but it is only a guess.

Its about 1990 or even 1989.

Cleaned up and looking spic and span regardless of the name on the downtube, it should get around £40 especially if you show the Reynolds badge.

Re:

It does look pretty retro, just look at the rake on those forks, and that rear light is properly retro! :)

Re:

Might be worth selling the rack separately - looks fairly decent and won't addmuch to the value of the bike. Possibly the tyres too if they're in good nick - lots of fans of tan wall Tyres about (though these probably aren't a sought after set if they came with the bike).
