Tour De France

At least 2 riders from my dream team crashed today :(

I was unaware that McKechnie's Pies was represented at this year's race.............

* :P of course, this is obviously a joke- McKechnie's make breid rolls..........

watching ITV4 highlight show ( sky plus is a wonderful thing ) each night. Will try and watch at least 1 or more one of the big mountain stages from start to finish.

I've gradually lost interest in the TDF since giving up road riding in the late 90's. There just isnt the characters like there used to be

I went through this as well but TBH, as there's so much crap on TV these days, I'm gonna spend some time looking at it today.

Yesterday's highlights - 13.00 to 14.00
Tea, wee and food - 14.00 to 14.30
Live today - 14.30 to 16.30

Gonna be a good day off for me! :P

And to think it started as half an hour in the morning, as a warm up for the Sumo wrestling...
I love it! There's no better way to spend a day in Spain (they usually have an interest in the result, unlike the French  0)than having a leisurely late breakfast whilst watching the start, having a few beers and a chat, with half an eye on the racing, maybe watching a breakawy developing, then lunch, a few more beers, watching the breakaway being hauled in, then shouting a lot!

A great day's racing on the cobbles! 8)

I was so inspired by it I cycled home by a route that was about 90% cobbles just to see how bad it could be.

And it was bloody awful, and that was only 3 miles of it on fairly well maintained city cobbles. Mind you I'd hope that a a state of the art road bike set up specifically for today would be a it better than my rigid (and I mean really rigid!) 12 year old aluminium mountain bike with a super short wheelbase.

Say what you like about pro road riders they are bloody tough.

Yup, it was great to see them bouncing along and where possible taking to the dirt along the edge, kicking up clouds of dust. Cadel musta loved it!
