I have seen it before. I wish they would just say who builds the frames since I already know they are contract built. So far "Torelli" has yet to tell me who previously built and presently builds their steel frames.

Similar to Tommaso. Not sure if the name was licensed (cycling garment company in Italy) or made up. Thomas Eason of TDSI was the importer so his name may been the impetus for the Tommaso name, and frames were painted (like Torelli) in the US. The Tommaso alloy frames were all ALAN models (with Tommaso and Guerciotti livery); but unknown where their steel frames were made. I believe their steel Guerciotti and Woodrup frames were made by the specified marque factories and/or their contracted builders. As a note; I have 2 of the Guerciotti "ALAN" bikes; they are quite nice and very lightweight, but one is fitted with Mavic G.E.L 280 rims so not for heavyweights (and I am not getting any lighter myself).-----
Hath wondered the same meself. We had a big batch of them imported to California where I abide ~1979. There was a period of some months following when it seemed like "everybody & his brother" was selling them and then they were gone. No new ones have ever returned in the interim. They appeared very much like contract jobbies.
