I believe they take a 127mm axle, anyone confirm this?...and can I get away with slightly shorter, say 124mm?

Cheers :)

Kind of depends on the frame you intend to use them on as well. Some frames has crazy geometry chain stays that can actually get in the way of some cranks. I would take it to your LBS and let them try some different BBs on it to optimal size/fitment.

Re:

I'm running a 127mm on my Explosif with Toplines. There's about 4mm clearance between granny ring and the chain stay (with 22 tooth granny ring).

Thanks; what's the crank arm/chainstay clearance like?

Cheers :)

'bout 8mm drive side, and 10mm non drive side.

ok, so I might get away with a shorter axle?

On my Breezer, the cranks clear the chainstays by about 2mm - scary to look at but fine in practice.
