I say unexpected, I should know by now that any bike I consider viewing will inevitably end up coming home :facepalm:









It's too small for me in reality so plan is to get the spec a bit closer to era used by what I have, use it and pass on to a shorter owner to enjoy. Had to buy it though as I've always wanted to get my hands on a proper Klein to play with!

Plan is to put it back to the RockShox, put some Ritchey tan walls on it, Ritchey WCS foam grips, lose the bar ends and change the rear mech out for an earlier XT. Unfortunately the original wheels are long gone but the replacements are decent quality.

I know exactly what you mean, I just picked up a Pace RC500 f+f I had absolutely no intention to. I blame going-downhill, he made me do it. :facepalm:

Yes and no, unfaded would of course be better but I think it adds to its Retro appeal. Apparently it spent a lot of time being ridden in sunnier parts of Europe.

It needs a good clean and a polish should still bring it up a treat.

Now you see I have the opposite problem. Nothing retro out there atm for short@rses like me but I'm soooo tempted to get something anyway even though I won't be able to ride it as I need another project.

I absolutely love these paint finishes and with a little spit n polish this should look cracking as the fade just makes it look more unique me thinks ..
