was supposed to be doing training road ride today but an old mate turned up and said he was up for a ride so me and adam and phil went mtb on the IOW (sorry pickle, russel etc!!) we meet up at the lymington ferry terminal, i'm supplying bikes, adam doesn't have an XC mtb and phil used to ride lots but hasn't got a bike at the mo. this ride is 2/3 retro! i was on the clockwork with the newly rebuilt mag 20 forks :D adam had my explosif and phil got given the st4 for the day, so he was quite happy!

was abit chilly, went to get tickets, FREE CROSSING!! :D :D new ferry just starting being used so foot passengers were free all weekend!! :D

did the usual ride around the needles etc, found a no cycling sign, must find a way to get to the same place without going past that sign

carried on and had a bit of a laugh on a couple of the downhills and admired a few views etc

did about 15ish miles, but as the riders from the ride on the IOW a while will remember it's rather hilly so it was a good ride and quite tiring, especially after spending a hour yesterday trying to kick start the suzuki, will never need the gym again after that!

oh and we didn't have a pint at the pub at the end of the ride!

here's couple of pics :D

was quite cold but once you got going it was fine, waiting for the ferry on the way back it was windy cold though, that cut right through you cold wind

good ride though, i'm still chuffed wit beating the others up the hills when i couldn't get granny ring coz i have a too short botom bracket axle, so my easiest gear was 36x28, made me secretly smile! :D

 had the windproof gillet but still got the cut right through wind! started to happen when we stopped, then you have the sweaty back from camalback so you're a bit wet that's when the wind decides to have you!
