To wear or not to wear, that is the question!

but if you look at the uk "publicity" photos, they all have helmets (few fit or sit properly which is worse than none)
 This is starting to happen in the CTC magazine, a few years ago there was many photo's of cyclists not wearing them but its been turned around now.

The times I've been on clubruns and seen newbies wearing helmets on the back of their heads and when I
some advice about fitting them correctly, I get thrown in my face 'What you know you don't even wear one'
I've always tried to tell them its freedom of choice but if you are to wear one, then wear one correctly.

Are you bored or something ? Opening this can of worms again.

As tto wearing one ? I dont. I own a cheapo one i use for offroad and the reason there is for the rocks and trees, mainly the trees  but on the road and in my pottering about commuter wise, never really felt the need as if i was struck by a vehicle i think my injuries would be mainly body crush injuries and broken bones.
We've had heads up there for quite a number of years now and for the most part. Humans have dont pretty well without one. Survived the last 200,000 years without bashing our heads in everytime we left the cave

Some idiots say wearing helmets & hi viz clothing saves your life! What bollocks...

Not absolute bollox by any stretch, i've had at least 200 cars nearly stood up by means of hitting thier brakes late and changing thier mind from nipping off a side road onto a presumed clear A road (in one attempted movement) cause they fly-balled my fluorescent coat at the last second. Me oppo who prefers attire more akin the colour of the road is always sited behind me and infront of me equally dayglowed twin, which naturally he hates, cause the heats on him (to actually ride) and he wants to argue with motorists who overshoot give-ways more than he wants to ride. Simple simon tackle.
