Did Titec make a Ti post ? If so has anyone got any pictures ?

It's just I have Titec Ti bar ends and stem, I am currently keeping an eye out for some bars and was wondering if they did a post to match ?

Cheers,

WD :-)

I've got a magazine with their full range in somewhere.

I'll have a look for you and reply. I know they did carbon and alloy.

Thanks Ben 8)

Where does Titec fit in the hierarchy of bike bling ? The stuff seems quite nicely made :-)

My Mags haven't shown one, but I seem to recall seeing one a few years back.

Their stuff was good quality, and they offered some quality parts. Sadly, they weren't as attractive as others available. They did various alloy and Ti bars, alloy, magnesium and carbon bar ends. They also did steel and alloy stems as well as alloy and carbon seatposts. I recently bought their foam grips as they only weigh 11 grams each! Oh, they made saddles with a variety of rails too.

That was around 1994/95, but I think they went off the boil a bit after that.

My spring 95 MBA accessory guide lists three Titec posts. Two ali and one carbon/ali top. The spring 94 guide lists no Titec at all. Not that they didnt its just that at that time Ti was very chi chi and so in the MBA guides.

Surely in the beginning the name Titec came from titanium technology? But then they later found that their best market was at the cheaper end of things.

Re:

I am bringing this thread up to see if anyone can answer the OP since I have the same question.

Re:

Goes to show it doesn't hurt to bring up an old thread every now and then. Here you go:

I can take better pictures or look for markings if you need. I don't know much about this - I was lucky enough to find it for pennies on ebay a couple of years ago, in an obscure 27.0 size, to go in my Bontrager Ti lite. I don't think it was one of the Bontrager catalog offerings from when they had a relationship (at least not that I've seen), but I like the connection just the same.
