Right fellow retrobikers I need your help!

Does anyone know of any company's who can re-weld titanium frames
(Am talking hairline cracks on b/b area)

I am a welder by trade but never tried too weld titanium I know it needs too be welded in a argon chamber or have the tubes filled with argon etc

But what I weld is rather more industrial than bike frames!!

Will look them up n give them a call,I guess there snowed under though if there that good.

Anyone had any work done by them at all?

Re:

Enigma really are the only choice IMO. A few people on here have used them and their work has always been excellent.
I'm sure Vernon's is perfectly acceptable, functionally - but his welding is unapologetically rough.

Vernon did my Sunn Morati - the stop where the spring of a v-brake slotted in had come loose on one pivot. Certainly not pretty (rough is the right word), but largely unseen once the V-brake was installed and I will be very surprised if it needs doing again. Good value and I think he did it within a week (but I did visit him in person as I lived in Leeds at the time).

I'd certainly recommend if you want a quick, cheap, functional job. If you want something that looks good in a highly visible place - Vernon's probably not your man.

Re:

I know a very good welder who has a unit in the same place as me in Macclesfield. He welds steel, aluminium and titanium. He's done repairs for On-One and Sabbath bikes.
He also recently welded up a crack on an aluminium Funk frame for Woody on here. It was a very neat job.

PM me if you want his details.

Thanks for all the replies so far I will take a look at all the options so far as the frame is from 1990 so I really only want too do this the once!!
