Titanium marin...in double butter alloy

Re:

The seller has just emailed me to say the latest bid on Gumtree (i didn't know it worked like that) is up to £850.

Be very quick guys, be very quick indeed.

He did offer me the frame number and it looks like a Lynksey frame number so it does look to be a Ti but still not worth anywhere close to £850 IMHO

As I 'was' interested in this bike I contacted the seller several times and they gave me the following number: M23cacD45 from the BB which clearly notes it is a Marin and a 19” 1993 Team Marin at that, nod to PopsTrippin as he noted this earlier in the thread. It’s definitely NOT a titanium frame.

As for Gumtree and bids, they are just taking offer via email as of course there is no bidding. I doubt anyone will have paid £850 so we’ll probably see it raise its had again soon.

Furthermore, the seller was not very forthcoming when it came to answering questions and the limited feedback and lack of response raised alarm bells for me, combined with the fact that they did not attempt to change the auction description noting it was not Titanium.

This one can ride by….

Re:

All very fishy. I emailed via ebay and they told me the serial number started CA23. I know that most Ti don't follow standard Marin number configs so assumed this was a Ti.

Looks like the seller struggles reading numbers as well.

Totally pal as they told me the number first so clearly they realised the Ti non numbers & made what they told you up. Scammers
