Tip find

I'd probably pass on repairing the frame. I suspect there is a market for the front fork as their fairly unique - my MS Racing bike came with a cheap aftermarket fork and if I was restoring that bike I'd totally want a proper MS Racing / Alpinestars fork to make it more period correct.

Went off to the local tip this morning to drop off some tree cuttings and noticed an alpinestars cro mega lx 91 inbetween the usual halfords bikes. Asked what they do with them to be told these are £10 as is. Took a punt on it as its mostly original parts.
Once home, started to strip down only to find seatpost is stuck and the upper seatube(above top tube level) is split. Thinking now,is it worth trying to get the seat tube fixed???
Anyway,this is it....

Nice find, even with a stuck seat post.
Get busy with some lubricants down the slot near the seatpost clamp.
I recently did a job on a Kona with a stuck seatpost and with a bit of perseverance it came undone.
In this instance I used a lubricant specifically for seized items (can't remember the name, sorry) and a vice. And the help of a fellow volunteer at the Comac ( Sheffield) workshop where I volunteer on Tuesdays.
There's plenty of advice on this forum to help out with problems such as this. It's worth doing for a nice bike like that!
Good luck!
