Hello mates,

from few weeks ago I have a nice TIOGA Revolver crankset but I have a question :

the drive-side arm has a " mechanical stop " for the spider, usually it's a female threaded connection for a fixing bolt but, in this case it has no threads inside ... only a hollow connection

could you pls advise me on fixing the spider to the arms ? the spider is kept clamped only between the arm and the BB bearing ??

did someone has the relevant TIOGA " repro decals " for the arms

Thank you very much

yup, they just sit in there all snug when bolted together. decal wise, ive painted mine black and left them......for now. gilm on here does decals but the originals were painted on so you may struggle but tioga decals would look just as good

i love revolvers, i wonder if anyone has a set gathering dust that just wasn't quite right for his last build??

I have a NOS set that I'd part with. I'd love to do a trade or a trade towards a frame. Send me a PM if your interested.

Thank you very much for your notes,

I really appreciate your suggestions !!!

Is there any press type fit will these? I have one that is stuck in a frame. I assume its just seized on the bearings but i was wondering if there were any collars or other sleeves that could be also stuck.

Re:

This might help - it's an exploded axo of how things fit together.

I have another [better] version but it's on another machine so this is all I have to hand at present - I'll try and get the other one up tomorrow but it may already be here in the archives...

Although not great, it does give an indication of how things fit together so should help with the queries above. There's no 'press-fit' as such, other than the bearings which are loaded into the cups before the whole thing is driven together on the axle.

I've never removed a seized set as I've only installed from new, but if you have one stuck it'll [as a guess] be the cups being a little stubborn in the BB shell and nothing more dramatic...

But, I say that with the caveat obvious above... ;)

Cheers,
BB.
