Ti Nitride repair?

RE: RS SDI race titanium.

no doubt a very sexy looking fork but....

Apparently prone to the tin plating flaking off. Not good. I dont think Pace had that issue with the proclass did they? Wonder why?

It still might be worth a punt just for the internals and lowers. Im guessing the internals could be retrofitted into an older SID fork giving 80mm travel.

All Goldtech kit had a Ti Nitride finish somewhere - hence the name Goldtech....It's worth a phonecall to find out if they can help, otherwise only other person I can think of is Tim at TF Tuned may carry spares

Boxxers were 32mm - not sure if any other sources of 28mm are available....

Ive emailed Goldtec (BETD).

Just got a message from the seller. He told me the ti-nitride is scratched (allready knew that, lol) and therefore the fork will not hold air. That seems strange to me as to my knowledge the sir piston is inside the stanchion. Unless the inside of the stanchion is ti-n plated too (I dont think so)? Im also pretty sure there is no pressurized air on the outside of the stanchion, like the lowers are charged with pressurized air right?

Anyway I put in a tentative bid. If I win I'll have a nice set of lowers and internals so maybe I can upgrade an older SDI fork with the parts.

Any thoughts from the SID experts out there?

This is the fork by the way:

Pretty sure it dosent have any air in the lower leg assembly. Its worth a punt so Ive placed a bid.

EDIT: Its listed on eBay US. I decided not to bother with it.
