I need to know what size and type the thread is on the steer tube of a 1 1/8th set of forks?

Any ideas - it looks very fine to me....

Thanks

Help

OK - I now know what size it is but I need to find a die to caut the thread longer - unfortunatly they appear to be a rare as hens teeth. Anyone got any idea where I can find one?

I would take it to your local bike store, for two reasons.
1) They have the tool ;) (well they should still have one anyway)
2) They should know how much of your steerer they can cut. Many threaded areas are thicker and then taper down (internally) so you cannot thread there.
I have no idea if current threadless style steerers can actually be cut.

General advice is always - no they cannot. Due to thinner wall thickness I guess, and most steerers are alloy now, did anyone do threaded alloy steerers?
