just looking through the bay and found a foes fab going really cheap but they were asking £300 for the delivaryfrom Germany.
Just message the guy and he said that the delivary to the UK is £30, but because of ebay fees he has to charge that much, surely the less you get paid the less you pay in charges?

Advice please as i really would like to get it

Paul

Why not ask him if he'd be willing to sell it outside of eBay? The only problem with that is that you'd have no guarantee to fall back on.

For 300 notes you could fly to germany and pick it up yourself!

Probably cheaper with ryan air

You'll see this a lot with stuff from Hong Kong. Basically (as far I'm aware anyway) eBay don't charge final value fees on postage. If the frame goes for £300 and you pay £30 postage, the guy pays fees based ona % of the £300. If if goes for £30 and you pay £300 postage, he only pays fees on the £30. At the end of the day it costs you the same amount, but saves the seller money in terms of fees.

I wouldn't say it's dodgy, unless the frame is worth less than £300!

Yep, agree with the above. Used to happen a lot when I collected retro R/C buggies.

Think you'll find it's postage only, no pick up. :(

If he can cheat Ebay out of the final value fee, more power to his elbow.
But imagine if it was a scam, and you started a dispute with him. He'd say "no problem, here's a refund minus postage costs".
Buy your bike bits through Retrobike. Much safer and friendlier.

I've seen this before with some XTR M900 rear mechs. They were £5 each BIN and postage was £25. Saves the seller a little on 'final value fees'
