thinking of trying a road bike......

it depends on your budget
try your lbs that does trade-ins
thats where i got mine , he gets stuff in on a regular basis
and an old road bike dont seem to fetch much

i got this for £30
it does what i need it too tho , so you dont need to spend lots to
get something that will be functioal
try gummtree and adtrader or loot or whatever there's always
"racers" for sale in there for not much cash

Road bike. Period. If you can live with down tube mounted shifters rather than STI's, the worlds your oyster. Fashion is terrifyingly prevelant in the roadie world. Shifters on down tubes do not sell readily. Massive bargains to be had.

How tall are you? If you are shortish and not frightened of fixing bikes, I have an aincient Raleigh with awful 26x 1 1/4 wheels. Yours for a £10 donation to a local charity that I haven't thought of yet. And you'll need to collect it from Derby.
