If there's a nice day next week, am thinking of taking the Kids (and a couple of dogs) to Thetford Forest for a stroll about..

Looked on their site but can't see much about whether dogs are allowed and where to park the car . . .

Any Thetford regulars got some ideas for a Thetford virgin?

brandon visitor centre place should be ok....spotted a couple of dogs with people so looked ok....... :?

Ian,

As MM says head to Brandon County Park.

Its dog friendly, has an excellent cafe, with dog friendly outdoor seating and pads for when the seats are wet 8)

At the most its a couple of ££ to park.

We head up there a fair bit with our two. Loads of walking to do if you want or an hours circular blast all possible.

Good riding from there too if you haven't been already.

Never been.. .. liking the RB aftermath and heard some good stuff about the place from others so, what with half-term week upon us, thought it'd be worth a visit...

Quite liked the look of facilities at High Lodge but it doesn't look particularly dog friendly. . . lots of kiddies play areas and stuff...

Will take the advice and head to Brandon.

Cheers guys 8)

High Lodge is a lot more expensive to park in than Brandon.

IMHO facilities are better at Brandon too - A mean bacon & sausage bap

Aye. . . £1.90/hour up to a tenner max... Still, a tenner for a day out isn't so bad (50p at Brandon is much better though ;) )

My kids have never hooned around in a forest before, reckon they'll love it and go ever-so-slightly mental
