The story An Orange Aluminum Elite MTB (year 1993) in France

The French

Dirt Disciple
Hello to the readers of this post !

In the beginning I was looking for a steel mountain bike frame, I love steel when it's good quality especially not in heating pipes, you know what I'm talking about.

I was looking for something from the years 1991 to 1995 my favorite period.

I wanted a frame or even a complete bike to use it of course.

I'm not the type to rebuild salon machines, much to the dismay of French collectors, and I admit it right away I'm not a catalog guru either.

At the end of the summer, a member of the site offers me an aluminum frame from the Orange brand.

I know this brand for these big bikes, especially the Patriots.

My curiosity is awakened, why not, I have some very pleasant Cannondales for small outings in the forest. Let's take a closer look!

A few exchanges later, I find myself buying an Elite Orange Aluminum frame from 1993.

In between, I still bought a Kastle 7.5 degree frame. Hmmm! Yes, I like bikes, a little, a lot madly, but that's another story.

In this period of pandemic, patience is required on both sides of the Channel. But everything can also speed up. My seller collects a box, lovingly and carefully wrapped the frame kit (yes I also decided to buy the rigid fork that goes well with this frame).

On Thursday, October 29, the package will take the road towards France. On Saturday morning, October 31, a man is happy.

(Continuation of the story soon)

Re:

Have one of these built with xt, purchased from a member on here, cracking bike, cantwait to see your end results

Polishing in progress!

Okay, I think I found in my treasure cave a complete XT M738 groupset and front derailleur compatible with the seat tube diameter.

I don't have the original handlebar, but a nice polished steel handlebar awaits its place on the stem.

A beautiful 1993 Vetta saddle is also ready for reassembly.

Alas, I'm still waiting for an answer for the stickers!

Be patient, the most important thing is to have elbow grease to restore a beautiful shine to this magical setting.
