.... as I have been negotiating with my boss, how much the company are going to pay me to leave.... I was gonna hand my notice in last Friday, but I'm kinda glad I didn't now, as this is working out financially better for me..... Tomorrow I could be unemployed, it's so weird. :? :? :?

My LBS has a vacancy and I'll be applying for that as I want a nice little stress-free number, for the foreseeable. (oh yeah, and the fact that it's a retro-NOS aladdin's cave).

It's a weird feeling being in limbo about everything work related, never been in this situation before really... :? :? :? :? :? :?

Forgive the garble, up there^^^^^^^ my heads kinda fuzzy by it all still.... :?:

understand your feelings. As i been under the big R a couple of times. And the way this Government is going it could be happening again. This time i couldn't give sh*t

are they paying you off or is it voluntary redundacy?

paying me off..........

I couldn't be happier, but the financial director thinks that my boss should be going, not me.......

make sure you will be better off, as pension schemes etc can be effected leaving you worse off in the long run.

my old manager left my company recently, leaving behind a £40k job and car and now cant find any work........he cant even get a job in a pub!

he says hes never been happier though.

Goodluck Steve I know you not been happy at your work for a bit now. Hope it all works out well for you and your family.

I'm leaving behind so many negatives (and not really a single positive), I'm relieved to say the least......
I'll miss a couple of the staff  and I fear the company might not fair the tast of time, so in a way it's nice to get a financial payout, rather than handing my notice in, last week and getting nowt.

The chest pains have disappeared for the first night in years!!! :P  :D

I took £26k when my job went(proverbially) South...

Mind you, I was well on my way to a £65k year (from a £45k basic)..

Just a bit sad I wasted 19 years in I.T.
