I've heard Hobson Moor's really good, but only on a Sunday...

Ive just found an extra loop to this, I hearby name it Tinsell fence
its very rough terrain which gets smoother the further downhill you get
at bottoms reservoir

the well placed icy waterfall at the top of the two mile climb

Anyone been to the Manifold valley near Leek?

Yes I have a few times. I very flat and pleasant along the valley floor on the Manifold Way with lots of old tracks and off road stuff that can be linked together to make a good ride.

I'll have a look at putting a route together if you want.
