I have a copy of that fine book at home, tyre tread vinyl cover and all. There are some wonderful photos in there, like that highpath bike and a bloke on a dodgy mtb with a 20 inch front wheel (with slick tyre) and 26 rear! Post some more scans!!!

I remember that book!

Always thought these books were almost aimed at newby cyclists or wanabees more than the core racers. Then someone would buy me one for christmas

That Kestral doesn't look much like the 10" huckster ironwork currently in fashion does it. Back then lighter and faster was the way forward. Now its heavier and stronger.

Ah, bike of the future :) .

When I took mine in for paint at the local coachworks (car body shop) he didn't believe me when I told him it was 18 years old  , said carbon wasn't around back then

so I guess its still foolin em into thinking its a bike of the future now :P

I own and still use the Highpath 'Cleland' shown on page 34. No that's not me riding it and Cleland riders didn't generally wear pith helmets either.
I bought this in 1988 and hope to continue riding it well into the future or at least until someone makes something better.
