I find such high mounted racks aesthetically displeasing but in principle am all in favour of any and all bikes serving whatever practical purpose suits their owners.
"Just a bike" y'know.

I was more more referring to the fact that gt made a bike called a "zaskar urban machine" during their wilderness years.

Living where I do I favour "urban" machines, as long as can do other stuff as well!

Plenty worse - no add-on petrol engine, odd handlebar contraptions, gigantic saddle etc.

I'm also impressed they have managed to puncture those Schwalbes - I've not managed in 6 years!

At least it hasn’t obviously been ridden by someone 3 sizes too tall with only a couple of inches of an overlong seatpost inserted into the frame.

It's not rusty, the parts and paint are in good nick . . . It has huge potential to be made into something else
