Alright jon w, looks like it's a go'er then.
As the climbs go Cheddar's not the worst one, it's the climb out of Wookey that'll get the blood pumping, so best park St. Johns at Priddy. We can sit in the pub while you're getting a blast of gas.
Shall we make it a round 100km and we can do it as a group audax just for fun, with perm cards and a cosy 10hr time limit

Ok, brave souls it's official The Mendip Mauler™ 2015 is a runner and should be appearing in the calendar any time soon. The rules are:
That you turn up like you said you will and bring a bike, any bike, it doesn't matter what it is. Make sure it's one you can ride hills on and has a good set of brakes, as there are a couple of STEEP descents. The ride down Cheddar is fast with a couple of tight bends and you might feel the need to stop at the bottom.
It's not a race and we'll re-group at the tops of the hills and generally stay together for a social ride at an easy pace for all to enjoy.
Mudguards will be required, unless it's been sunny and dry, as we're riding in a group and the roads have a liberal covering of farm skog on them.

Bobbinogs at the front.
Bugloss at the rear.

Singletrackjack white knuckle rider.
I really want to attract a few more, as going all that way and organising it for a couple of riders, one of which I'll be riding a very short way with the day before until he disappears over the horizon and the other who said he's willing to do a different ride avec moi in Kentland if it's not on, seems like a bit too much effort.
I sent out a mail to those who expressed an interest and only three replied, so if there are 5 + me confirmed who guarantee to turn up regardless of the weather it's on, if not it's off.
There will be a weather check and confirmation on the 19th, so if its forecast to be a tempest I'll try and run it later in the year.
Deadline is the 15th. March.
