The 'how much post is too much post' Erm, Post....

Copey

OK, so I bought this Klein Adroit and I love it, however its a little on the small side for me.. so I managed to source a 420mm post and just wondered what the consensus is, in terms of how much post is too much?

So, the question is, how much post do you guys show?

Here is a pic (excuse the tyres, these came with the wheels I just bought off eBay).

Cheers

Mark

I'd say too long. I don't think the seattube extension above the toptube would survive :?

Oh my good god! What a post!!!!

Urm, no, whhhaaayyyyyy too much post. I can sense that snapping.

He He, just the reaction I was expecting...

Its a 420mm post and it has sufficient post in the seat tube (it passes the top tube)..

I am 6ft 4ins, hmmm anyone want to buy an Adroit Frame??

Or exchange for a larger size?

at 6'4" you really need the XL frame (2 sizes larger). i am 6'4" too and feel cramped on the 21" frame and totally wrong on the 20". i do like how the smaller frames handle but it just doesn't make sense. my back couldn't stand that saddle/bar height difference for a long time.

Well if anyone knows anyone that want's to swap, let me know :)

I may well just keep it as a garage queen, but it seems a shame, I really wanted to race XC on it..

keep that one for the beauty contest and get a 22" (XL) Pulse, Pulse 2 or 97/98 Attitude as rider. same geometry, basically the same frame but with standard 1 1/8" head tube which is very convenient. and way cheaper too.
