what about zaskar and zaskar le from a time when the frame was exactly the same, would it not be ok to rebadge your bike as le if you had upgraded all of the components on it?
Look at all the branded Sandvik and Litespeed frames out there.
Only reason I can find for doing it is if you have a bike that shared a frame with another one, and you want to make "the other one". Frames are often the same on 2 or 3 models within a product range. Or if you upgraded your frame with more modern parts and want the more modern look using later decals for same frame, like on my Parkpre.
In many cases it was outsourcing in the same way Kona Hot frames were contracted out to a frame builder, but in other cases (racing mainly) some manufacturers simple bought a production frame took the old stickers off and added their instead.
so in reality you should peel off all the stickers from your asian
made bikes and apply THE HAPPY GO LUCKY BIKE COMPANY OF ZONGSHEN PROVINCE stickers or similar then .
