Just looked at the hole at he back of the stem and its huge - I could see why you might want to plug it.

Lovely first ride on he Holdswoth cyclone today. The problem is that I have an illness that means my hands are quite weak - so things are often not as tightly on as I hope and hence , fall off! Those GB brakes work....just about...and it's a bit heavier than expected. Generally very comfortable first ride and no parts strewn on the Bristol to Bath path....yet

It looks almost as if its chrome - but I'm guessing its just well polished. Your Chater Lea crank is nice too!

The stem is full on chrome bling . The CL crank set is going on a Flying Gate .When I get round to building it up.
