The final straw

KenG,

At the very least you could hand over the video to the local authorities and let them mete out the appropriate justice.

Sad post, its things like this that have put me off buying a brand new bike or a used expensive one :-(

My bike is very secure at home but I do worry if I have to chain it up while out and about.

I've posted a link on our Facebook group to this post.
Can't believed it happened again.. Well I can if it was about 6months ago which is the usual return time iirc.

I must admit that i keep all of my bikes inside the house which is alarmed etc. I also work from home so I am around all day and obviously at night. I also have 4 large protection trained dogs 2 live outside and 2 live inside. (2 Rotties and 2 German Shepherds)

Thanks everyone
Still feeling paranoid today, first thing i did when I got in was to check the garage to make sure the Explosif was still there, thankfully it was, now I'm looking for other security measures to add, the more I think about the thieving scrotes the madder I get.
Thanks for the Facebook link FluffyChicken,I really appreciate it.

I worry about my bikes in the shed. I keep thinking about insurance for them. It's fine about the On-One but my M-Trax I don't think I could replace. It's still totally original even down to the innertubes and the green crappy grease in the cassette.
That year of Hahanna is one of my favorites. I love that colour scheme. Really sad to hear about them going. If it's any help I have a DBR response frame thats a little small for me I could send you to start a project on.

Thanks Logic al
I appreciate the offer but all I ride is gates, the Hahanna was a 20 and the Explosif is a 21, but it's good to get responses from fellow retro bikers on here, it really is a great community feeling.

My only 2 gates are my Mtrax and my On-one. Sunset is a great little shop though. I went in there not long ago when looking for a new cycle scheme bike. Ended up with the On-One but a mate bought a lovely Pinarello from there. And they had an awesome looking Lapierre.

Thats horrible news, could you not take your bikes inside the house and keep them in a small room or in the attic?

What area of Hull were they taken from, i drive for my job and spend most of my days around the city and i always spot cool old bikes here and there, do you have any more/better pics of the Hahana and ill definately keep my eyes peeled for it!

This is another reason why i have to climb over bikes to get in and out of my bedroom, but i happily do it as it means theyre in the house and hopefully out of harms way when it comes to things like this!

Get a bike bag, keep it in that inside the house somewher so that it does not muck up the soft furnishings with oil and mud. If your ceilings are high enough hang from ceiling with hooks above your head out of the way.
