It's just occurred to me, how many years do you have to rewind to find a "completely British" bicycle, i.e. without any imported components - the late 50s maybe?

Or possibly the Choppers and Shoppers of the 70s?

Yes I think so if derailleur equipped. Maybe 60s if fixed/free, hub gear
