Lost it. Doh..

Trashed the garage in a furious rage trying to find it.

Now I wondered has anyone read "The Professional Guide to Wheel Building" by Roger Musson.

If so how does it compare to Jobst Brandt's book. I'm particularly interested in the wheel building tutorials. The book had very good diagrams for building non standard spoke pattern wheels.

Is Roger's pdf file worth the £9.

Very good book from Mr Musson,only got the hard copy, but daresay the pdf is the same or perhaps updated

I prefer this one though, Art of Wheelbuilding by Gerd Schraner or maybe have a google for the late great Sheldon's guide

The guy who taught me to build wheels uses the methods from The Art of Wheelbuilding. Now that I know these I tend to stick by them so not to confuse myself. I do have a copy of the PDF from Roger Musson (though it wasn't £9 when I bought it!) and reading through it I find the methods he uses easier to make mistakes with. The way Schraner laces a wheel means once you have the first 3 spokes in the wheel it is pretty impossible to get it wrong unless you are paying no attention at all (once you have the hang of it that is, at first everyone makes mistakes).

Musson does give a good drawing of a DIY wheel jig which could save you a lot of hassle and money if you are good with wood and intend to make more than just the occasional wheel.

I have never looked at Sheldons wheel guide, but its free so must be worth a look
