The Best V's

Avid Ultimates have been the best for me (levers and arms) and lasting nicely thanks very much. XTR were good but not as powerful as the Avids.

I've had a pair of Shimano LX V-brakes and levers since new, the old style (M600?) non-parallel push ones. They're none too heavy, nice one/two finger levers and they stop as well as any V brake I've ever used.

P.S. that said, I don't use them at the moment, and they're burning a hole in the bottom of my bits box so they may well be going the way of eBay sometime soon, complete with booster arches and bolts!
