Just bought this double CD from eBay for £2.72 (+£1 P&P)...

...and it's brilliant! All of the bands I used to love back in the day when I wore baggy jumpers and had long hair -- Happy Mondays, Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets, The Farm, The Shamen...

Highly recommended. 8)

my mate has that exact cd, brilliant when i tried guessing all the tracks on it, when he would blast a few secs of each song - got most of em right, was quite a music buff bitd

Yeah, it's a lot of good music for £3.72, but what I can't figure out is how tracks from 1986 and 1984 ("Sinful" by Pete Wiley and "How Soon Is Now" by The Smiths) find their way onto a CD dedicated to music from 1988 to 1992....

Blimey, got given that as a birthday pressie when it came out 10 years ago - the tracks seemed way retro then!

Must keep it in the car, 'tis an excellent road trip album!

Sinful was re-recorded with The Farm in '91, but I can't remember which version is on the Unbelievable CD.

How Soon Is Now was re-released in '92 when Rough Trade went tits-up, Warner reissued it and brought out a few susbsequent compilations.

Fair enough Drencrom, I didn't know that. The versions on the CD are the originals, released in the 80s.

I still think that there were better choices for a compilation like this -- where are Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Swervedriver, Ride or the New Fast Automatic Daffodils?

Heck, De La Soul or Definition of Sound would have been a better fit than "Sinful"...

Yep, a bit of Ride would've been superb indeed.
