I bought a pretty decent Fisher Montare some time ago. I just got started touching up the frame. I have everything save for a rear M730 derailleur. This resto is not meant to be showroom piece but more to stop rust inside the frame and touch up chain suck and storage rash.
What you see here is the bare frame and treatment of the BB shell with a rust converter paint frame. The bottom of the bb shell was crusty. Thought it best to do the treatment. I will also spray the inside of the frame with a rust converter fluid to stop any rusting inside, at least temporarily for a few years.
Update will be slow but sure to come. What do you all think of the 87 Montare? Am tempted to turn it into a single speed.
