The Beast of Turin

I would love to hear/feel that noise in person. I would literally rate it alongside my favourite music, in terms of sheer listening pleasure. I was lucky enough to see the Napier Bentley go up Prescott hillclimb a couple of years back, and the sound of it being gunned away from the hairpin brought tears to my eyes. I suspect that Fiat sounds even better.

Yes, I am slightly weird.

No you are not. I live 2 miles from Prescott. They all stay locally and drive through/around warming them up etc. the noise and smell does strange things to a man.

Not heard of the Napier Bentley, I know the Napier Railton was an absolute beast though - track record at Brooklands at an average speed of 155mph!!!! On tyres almost skinnier than a fat bike too!!! My wedding car was a Railton, not a Napier though unfortunately....

Napier Bentley, at the event that I witnessed it. I was standing on the bend at 1:31 and believe me, the recording doesn't even come close to the actual noise that it made.
When the current owner first bought it, he took it to a track and gave it everything off the line - and ripped most of the spokes out of the rear wheels. Now that's a car.
