The age old question?

As a kid growing up, Agnetha.

Getting into the 80s, though, and went through a phase where I was drawn to Anna-Frid.

Looking back, over their time, though, Agnetha.

Always thought it was in some ways quite sad how they ended up for the longest time. Agnetha distanced herself from the rest for quite a while - I always wondered whether that was more about her, or whether it was as much about the rest of them. There was this wicked rumour that she only got a relatively modest chunk of money after they split, but other things I've read suggested that those were really odd, low-ball perceptions and she was actually worth a helluva lot more.

The Day Before You Came was, perhaps not their most typical of songs for their last (in real terms), but was clearly complete and exceptional work by them - especially considering that many said their hearts weren't in it by that point. I always thought it telling, going back a bit when I'd occasionally watch these so-called, "reality" talent programmes, and somebody would sing one of Abba's songs - made you realise they were well crafted, and of a time when they had to be decent singers to prevail by non-contrived means.

It was a very disfunctional group. Imagine writing a song like "The winner takes it all" for your wife to sing.

In an effort to link this thread with this great past time of ours, have any of you ever ridden in Scandinavia? I ask as I saw some of the tour of Norway on tv and the scenery was fantastic. One tip if you go, take your kneewarmers!

And yes, I know the group are Swedish! Also liked another Swedish group bitd , Roxette. Maria Fredrickson was lovely 8)

Much more crucially, it is good to see that guys can be so fussy; personally, either one please.

Obviously I will pay the postage.

Not good for my old heart. Mr History, as Supertramp said you always were a 'Dreamer'.

Nice thought though, I will think of that as I put my coat on .....
