The 97ish GT Tequesta Shed find Restore Project

Had a sudden turn up of another retro steel steed today after a friend came across this in a shed clearout. A GT Tequesta looking at the components its 97ish its stock bar the nice RST Mozo Pro fork it seems. I cant see this exact version in the archives on here. I has a bit of reynolds on it so thats a nice feature also it has some ovalizing on the tubes in places.

Its hardly been used by the looks of it, the owner said it had been sat for about 20 years. amazingly some most of it still all moves.

Plans are to leave as it is parts wise just clean and service it then sell on suposidly haha. If anyone has any info on it please feel free to let me know.

Work has started. Its had a good wash which made it come up really well. With that done the stripdown began, findings were naff all grease used anywhere apart from the headset where the fork was changed. The bb put up a bit of a fight coming out as expected but i won in the end.

Dirty stripdown after the wash

The frames looking loads better already. As a teenager I wanted a set of Mozo Pros, but my budget meant 381s

Yes amazing what a wash can do. looks even better now ;), Yes never thought id own a set now.

On to the hubs, Very little wear anywhere just naff all grease.

Plenty of crap flushed out of the free hub though with the gt85 followed by brake cleaner and spining it in the vice. A few drops of oil for the ratchet and a repack with grease and good as new.
