Your opening paragraph sounded just like one of my old friends so I assumed you did in fact mean nookie as that’s exactly what he would have written!

As for your shifting problem it could be several things but the most simple is likely to be the limit screws which look like they are on the top of your front derailleur in the photo of your bike.

I’ve robbed a photo off the internet, will look something like this. One screw stops the chain falling off the top cog and the other stops it falling off the bottom cog. On most mechs they act on a lever, limiting the amount it can travel, you can sometimes see the back of it which helps working out which one to adjust. If you get stuck keep posting on here and I’m sure we’ll get you sorted.

Hope you all had a great day , 4 day weekend coming up lets get out there. The bone shaker (nookie) getting new pads, forks and main bearings this weekend. I have never spent so much h time in the garage (hoorah)
