Right... Who else on here had the idea that there would be interest years down the line in their race bike, back in the days when they were actually using it for intended purpose?
I know I did.
I selected the components on my Dave Yates based on the criteria
1) They were good to use at the time
2) They were strong enough to stand the test of time (didn't always work out) without breaking.
3) They were going to be interesting in the future.
4) That my bike would one day be as interesting as the Flying Gates and Hetchins machines that the retro-bikers of the day were so into.
I got the timing totally wrong though. I wasn't expecting the retro-revival for another 5 or 6 years. But then Nothing's Shocking these days.
