Jimmy Carr is looking buff!

Ha Ha Ha Haaaaaar.

Sorry, couldn't resist

Nice painting, I think it captures the Badger very well. What medium have you used?

Just done in Illustrator, the background was forest/country pic that I just blurred and used a section of. It was just fun to do and doesn't take too long.

Lol, you've probably got got a long wait then. I'm still thinking Froome, Porte and someone, with Quintana not on the podium. If Froome still isn't at his best you never know though.

So you start with a photo then? The 'Cubist' style is part of the Illustrator options? I suppose Photoshop could do the same?

Re:

Yes, you usually use a reference photo or photos.

You can do it in photoshop but I think suits Illustrator. You basically draw a load of triangles for the areas of light and shade then fill them.

In Illustrator I just use the pen tool to draw the triangles (with a stroke, no fill) then use live paint to fill the areas. You'd do it in a similar way in photoshop. There are some youtube tutorials showing how to do it in photoshop but not tried them.

There are some apps out there that supposedly convert a photo to a low poly picture but the couple I played with were pretty hopeless.
