- a triple tandem made out of bamboo!!

- a carbon fiber tandem that weighs only 23 pounds complete! Plus it combines a regular chain set with a belt drive. It ain't cheap (frames start at $7K)

That belt drive timing 'chain' looks interesting and useful.

And at last someone has a bike with an even bigger drainpipe than Cannondale with the bamboo monster - fantastic!
 
Love their frames. one day will buy one. But not with a rubber band for a chain. daft idea.
 
Why so?
There are plenty of belt drive bikes around these days. The belts are reinforced with glass, kevlar or carbon fibres, just like car cam belts. For industrial applications (e.g. automation drives, robots, conveyor traction systems) belts are now the preferred option.
 
A chain i can repair when out on a ride. I don't want to carry spare rubber bands every time i go out. A couple of links and a link tool take up less space
