Taller Stem

My Orange Elite has a crappy Halfrauds stem on it, and I am after a new (old) one. Having done a few longer rides recently and getting some backache what are the options for getting a taller one to give a more comfortable riding position, without ruining the bike?

what rise/length stem are you using now? Is it ahead, or a quill type stem?

Its not very big, and I think its a quill type (not very helpful I know!)
