A whole ten pounds. Still has the original shop sticker on the rear mudguard.

It looked pretty reasonable as it was but it had suffered 'something' at some point. A few battle wounds plus a keyless Dutch rear wheel lock. Took me about an hour to remove that with a large drill bit and some wiggling - someone else had given up previously as it was pretty mangled.

Dyno/ roller brake front hub with a Sram S7 rear internal hub/ drum brake. Batavus branded quality eyeletted rims with decent enough spokes and all stainless steel bolts. Not one bit of rust.

I've replaced the broken brake levers with some from a 1987 Muddy Fox Courier because A: they have been lying around for some 8 years and B: because I'm a tight git. Sprayed them a suitable colour and fixed the Batavus rubber badges off the originals - only to later find them on ebay for about £8 anyway.

The gears work well enough but the gripshift is a bit tired. Have ordered a new rod/ clickbox/ shifter simply because it is cheaper to buy the whole lot than to replace one part.

New saddle today from that little bike/ TV/ fridge shop in Haverhill plus a massive bell!

The missus loves it! And the bike!
