Syncros ? titanium stem

Have to wait for others, but there is never a mention of a Ti stem in there catalogues even up to 1996. They had no reason to make one as they always stayed with what did the job the best. Ti would probably be to flexy and heavy for them.
Better informed will probably know though ;)

 Never seen this. Beware, it could be modern Chinese/Russian titanium work. Nice though.

The welds look pretty crappy; not up to Syncros specs. Suspicious... If he had the top cap it would be very helpful.

I think I recall seeing something like this at some bike fair back when I was still working in a shop but I can't remember when and who.

My vote goes to knockoff.

Bad welds aren't always a sign of badly mad - just look at early Ti makers like Merlin, Fat, One Off etc and you'll see that it wasn't all seemless beads prior to 1992.

That said that does look homemade and certainly not Syncros (why would they make it in 1 1/4" yet we've never seen one in a sensible size like 1" or 1 1/8"?)
