syncros stem

Have you tried the pennies in the clamp technique? I've had some pretty high risers through one of these in the past.............. Take the clamp bolts out and thread them back in from underneath. Put two pennies into the clamp, 1 for each bolt and tighten the bolts against the pennies, forcing the clamp open. should go through then. Apologies if you've already tried this!

I've a couple of Syncros stems & have a very 'low riser' bar but, I've never dared try this...

Is it safe, is it hard to do :?:  :?

hi, thanks for the advice, i have just tried and stretched it as far as i dare but i still cant get them in without damaging the carbon finish on my bars, it seems as if the bars bulge starts half way through the second bend making it nigh on impossible. DOH! :?
